I offer customized tours throughout Florida for individuals or small groups. I have over 25 years of experience leading tours, am familiar with all aspects of Florida wildlife, and have an extensive knowledge of native plants, snakes, frogs, and many other critters you encounter in Florida.

If you want to catch up with me, I'll be leading trips and attending the following events:
  • February 1:  Birding Hotspots Tour.  Meet at Ditch 13 Gallery and Gifts in Fellsmere (located on Broadway next to Marsh Landing)  at 8:00 a.m. and carpool to a location to be determined, depending on where the birds are. Trip will last 3 hours and cost of trip is $15 per person. 
  • February 4:  Birding Hotspots Tour.  Meet at Ditch 13 Gallery and Gifts in Fellsmere (located on Broadway next to Marsh Landing)  at 8:00 a.m. and carpool to a location to be determined, depending on where the birds are. Trip will last 3 hours and cost of trip is $15 per person. 
  • February 10-12: Birds of a Feather Festival: Dee and David will be teaching classes and leading tours. Festival registration is required.
  • February 19: Kissimmee Prairie Preserve Buggy Tours - Go to the Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park web site for registration information. You must register with the park, not David, to attend this trip
  • February 20: Intro to Birding - Private class for Oak Harbor residents.
  • February 24: Birding field trip - Private tour for Oak Harbor residents.
  • February 25: Samson Island Open House - We will be leading free bird walks through out the day. Catch the ferry to the island behind the Satellite Beach fire house. 
  • February 26: SCAS Birds and Brews - We will not be leaders for this event, but come out and join us and Space Coast Audubon Society for birding, brews, and more!

  • March  2: We will be helping to judge a grade school art show at the Environmental Learning Center in Vero Beach.

  • March  5 1:30 p.m.: We will be teaching a FREE Introduction to Birding class at the Environmental Learning Center's Eco Fest.
  • March 18: Birding Hotspots Tour.  Meet at Ditch 13 Gallery and Gifts in Fellsmere (located on Broadway next to Marsh Landing)  at 8:00 a.m. and carpool to a location to be determined, depending on where the birds are. Trip will last 3 hours and cost of trip is $15 per person. 
  • March  18: Pelican Island Festival - We will not be leading tours here, but we will certainly be attending and supporting America's first refuge, and you should too!
  • March  19: Kissimmee Prairie Preserve Buggy Tours - Go to the Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park web site for registration information. You must register with the park, not David, to attend this trip
  • April 1 8:30 - 10:30 a.m.: Advanced Birding Class - Turkey Creek Sanctuary $10.00. Lecture followed by a bird walk where you will be able to put your new skills into use. 
  • April 22-23: Flamingo Quest - Audubon Society of the Everglades (Palm Beach County Audubon Chapter), in partnership with the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD), offers special “Flamingo Quests” in Stormwater Treatment Area (STA 2), a rare opportunity to see these iconic birds in the wild in Palm Beach County! I will be leading the tours on Aprill 22-23. Note that this tour fills up fast, and you must register to attend. 
  • April 29: Wings over Florida at Three Lakes WMA. Go to the Florida Birding Trail site for information and to register. 
  • May 13-16: Dry Tortugas Trip with Florida Nature Tours. Visit the Florida Nature Tours web site for details.
  • May 19-21: Georgia Ornithological Society Meeting
